The Musical Theatre / Cabaret training program is designed to give artists the tools necessary to pursue professional work. It is also the aim of the company to provide work to alumni by producing periodic cabaret nights in the SE Queensland region. With a variety of courses on offer, the program will equip artists will all the tools necessary to enter the professional world of cabaret. Expressions of interest in any of the programs is now open. SING with Rachel Dunham | By Appointment |
This individualized training involves studying, intense vocal technique & voice production. Available to professionals, semi professionals as well as those just beginning, to learn more about their individual instruments and to develop strength and healthy vocal technique. Rachel studied for 2 years under renowned vocal coach Don Greydon mastering his unique full-voice technique which she now teaches her students, giving them more power, range and control than they ever thought possible over their voice, and in the process, the self-confidence to perform. Some of her private students have gone on to NIDA, Mackay Conservatorium of Music, and to pursue professional stage careers.

MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITION | Expressions of Interest can be made now |
Every actor/singer needs to have at their fingertips a myriad of pieces in a variety of styles which can be performed for auditions for musical theatre. Often times, the same “popular” song is performed by countless auditionees, much to the dismay of those casting the project. More often than not, the song choice is not necessarily one which best serves the artist. This course is designed to identify unique audition material for the performer which best serves to highlight the acting ability and musicality of the performer. The artist will finish this course with three (3) solid audition pieces geared to showcase their abilities to their best advantage. Each song will be placed in the appropriate key for the performer, sheet music in that key will be provided and a rehearsal/backing track for each will be produced.

THE ENSEMBLE EXPERIENCE | Expressions of Interest can be made now |
The mastery of all three disciplines of the musical theatre (act, sing and dance) better known as the “triple threat” is nowadays expected of any performer hoping to find work in the professional musical theatre arena. More musical theatre performers make a living by being members of the ensemble of a production, and as such, need a solid foundation in part singing, blending and harmony. This course is specifically designed to acquaint and prepare the artist for choral work, part and close harmonic singing.

REPERTOIRE | One on One - By Appointment |
Designed specifically for the singing actor, over the course of a ten (10) week period, this program will develop and prepare a thirty minute cabaret act for the artist. Material which showcases the range and scope of performer’s talent will be sourced, rehearsed, and the appropriate sheet music and backing//rehearsal materials created for the artist to be able to perform the act professionally. Participation in this program will conclude with the artist having a debut showcase in one of the cabaret evenings produced by the company.

ENSEMBLE WORKSHOP | Expressions of Interest can be made now |
Once an artist has completed the ENSEMBLE EXPERIENCE course, they are invited to participate in the ongoing vocal training workshop. The aim of this program is to give the artist a place where they can keep their skills honed and so that they are ready to go when employment opportunities arise. Group numbers and particular showcase pieces will be rehearsed and staged with an eye towards inclusion in one of the company’s productions. Vocal duets, trios and quartets will also be rehearsed and staged.
